The "Nest Box" Series

The nest box series started with the question “What if a bird made a nest out of...?” And so rather than exploring a theme using a single medium, this is more an exploration of mediums using a single theme. Inspiration came from a variety of sources, one idea often spurring the next. Most of the works in this series are small, intimate pieces that invite touch and exploration. Opening the drawers often reveals a little surprise - a swirl of brightly colored paint, pencil erasers embedded in resin, snippets of paper, or an unusual color combination. And the tiny little drawers make you want to find something special to put in them. Perhaps a trinket from your chilhood, a beloved piece of jewelery, or even a tiny piece of paper onto which you’ve written your dreams.
